Childhood Revisited
Before the days of TV craze
I used to sit and read;
And play a game and dream of fame,
And even plant a seed.
I had a fancy airplane car
And drove it all around;
I flew it in my dreams at nite;
My thoughts above the ground.
And when I wanted I could hear
A thousand stories, shed a tear;
RCA told tales clear;
Enough to last the whole darn year!
I'd go outside to nite's surprise,
Explore the world's laughing eyes;
And gaze at stars in darkened skies,
Amazed that I was twice the size.
Imagination run amuck;
A simple little fire truck;
Toy soldiers, checkers, balls and jacks;
Jelly beans and special snacks.
I'd like to live those days again;
Times were so much better then;
But aren't they always when you're small?
When life's a big, round basketball?
